All Catholics should be Confirmed to be fully initiated into the faith and equipped to live out their Baptismal promises. The process for adults seeking Confirmation will be the same as for the youth, but the study material may be different.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

What is Confirmation? Who can be Confirmed?<\/b><\/span>
Confirmation is the Sacrament in which a Baptized Christian receives more fully the Gifts of the Holy Spirit through the Bishop anointing him\/her with chrism oil. The Holy Spirit gives these gifts for the building of the kingdom of God, equipping us to make disciples and to spread the Gospel. A Confirmed person is a mature Catholic who can then be a godparent\/sponsor, and be married in the Church.\u00a0In the archdiocese of Seattle, the normal age of Confirmation is 12 years old.<\/u><\/span><\/p>\n
